What is the hospice interdisciplinary team?

As a team we provide quality care to the patient and their family. This team includes: Attending Physician, Hospice Medical Director, Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Spiritual Support, Hospice Aide, Supportive Therapy, and Volunteers. Each member plays a significant role in helping the patient and the family during the difficult time.

Is hospice only for the elderly?

No, terminal illness doesn’t discriminate. It can happen at any age. Hospice is for anyone who is diagnosed with a terminal illness and no longer seeking curative treatment.

If I decide to go on hospice, am I allowed to change my mind?

Yes. Patients can revoke Hospice at any time. They may choose curative treatment, or their illness may improve. Later, they can always apply again for Hospice.

Is hospice available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week?

Where is hospice provided?

Hospice may be provided in the patients home, a skilled nursing facility, or an independent/assisted living facility.
